Water damage, handled.

We find the source of water damage, map where it went, and dry the house.

What water mitigation is

Water mitigation is the first job after a leak: stop the water, find everywhere it went, and dry the structure before wet materials do more damage. Rebuilding comes after and is a separate trade. Halebright does the mitigation. We don't do rebuild work, so we have no reason to remove more than drying requires. We are a small, owner-run company in Houston.

Moisture mapping

A wall can look dry while the material behind it is not. We take moisture readings across walls, floors and ceilings and record them on a floor plan, so the wet area has an edge you can see. We read the same points every day until the readings show the house is dry.

How we investigate: source finding, moisture mapping and thermal imaging

The building science of drying

Water runs down, wicks sideways into drywall and wood, and moves as vapor. Drying means pulling that moisture out of the materials, into the air, and out of the house. A thermal camera shows us where to look; a moisture meter confirms what is wet. Every dehumidifier and air mover we set has a written reason.

The Halebright Record

Every job ends with a dated, photographed record of what we found and what we did:

  • the source, as we found it
  • where the water went, mapped and measured
  • daily readings at the same points until the house is dry
  • a written reason for every machine we set

It describes what we measured and saw. Coverage is your insurer's decision; what Texas law says about that.
